Fluidmaster Fill Valve 400A For Several Models. This fill valve comes complete with the replenish tube, clip, nut and gasket to secure the valve to the tank, and the supply line nut. The valve itself is also adjustable by turning the grey threaded arm to the left to lower the level of the float, or right to raise the height of the float. The height of the tower itself can also be adjusted. You can do this by pressing up on the clear plastic ring near the bottom of the tower. Once you have pressed it up you can twist and pull the tower itself to increase the height, or pus it down to make it smaller. The Fluidmaster 400A is a great replacement for almost any model that the original fill valve has been discontinued for. To install the fill valve the first step is always to turn the water supply off to the toilet. The next step is to disconnect the supply line. When doing this step have a bucket ready there will be some water left in the line. After the line has been disconnected you will need to make sure to flush the stop out. You can do this by placing the end of the line into an empty bucket, and turning the water on. Allow the water to run through for a few seconds, and then shut the water supply back off. It is highly recommended to repeat this step at least 2 to 3 times. It will insure there is no debris left inside of the stop valve, or supply line, which can flow directly into the new valve damaging the inner components, and extremely shortening the lifespan of the new fill valve. Once the stop has been flushed out you will remove the nut that secures the fill valve to the tank, and then set the new fill valve through the hole. The last steps are to secure the valve with the nut provided, and attach the replenish tube to the overflow tube of the flush valve.
